This seems a little busy and off topic
This I was thinking about using as a blog button only, because I can't stretch it enough to use as a header too.Here is another runner up. I like it as a header, but it seems a little boring. I really was looking for something that would work well as both the blog header and as a button. I also like the one below with the light post, but I haven't figured out how to include it as a horizontal header. What do you think? I am desperate for input.

I had to come over and comment on your blog Rachel, because your comment on my giveaway post made me laugh. I am trying not to comment on the giveaway posts so I don't screw up the numbers when choosing the winner.
Anyway - I like the first one best out of the two you show. They won't stretch out to be a banner? I like the first one because it looks like it is outside a "studio". You could even try a graphic person - the "painted lady" a woman with paint smudges on her face and holding a paint palette and brush maybe?
I'm sure whatever you choose will work well for you!
